Every branch of the U.S. military—Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force and Coast Guard—took part in the Vietnam conflict. On the ground, on the water and in the air, men and women gave their dedication, courage and, too often, their lives in defense of their nation and its ideals. Vietnam hats from Medals of America help commemorate that conflict and the bravery and sacrifice of Americans who fought. Were you part of the Tet Offensive in 1968? You’ve earned the right to wear the Vietnam hat recognizing that harrowing event. Were you a member of the 101st Airborne Division in-country? You’ll wear that cap with pride. Did you serve in any capacity in Vietnam during the war? There is a hat for you, too. Vietnam hats from Medals of America are a way to honor service to country. They might just let people know you were there and survived. They tell anyone who sees them that, whatever their opinion—or yours—of the reasons behind the conflict and the way it was managed, you are proud of your service. Yet, as proud as you are of that service, some of the Vietnam hats also level criticism. Although one hat might make it clear you “proudly served,” another make it clear that extensive use of the defoliant Agent Orange to clear vegetation, was a dangerous decision and you feel “sprayed and betrayed.” Many Vietnam veterans are proud but angry. Let Medals of America’s Vietnam hats speak for you.
